Do you want to help optimize tomorrow's energy production?
As a Production Engineer, you will work with production planning, operational optimization, and analysis in close collaboration with the operations organization to ensure efficient and sustainable energy production. Read more and apply!
Your Role
With us, you will have a key role in planning, optimizing, and developing production at our district heating, district cooling, and power generation facilities. You are responsible for ensuring that our production resources are used in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner based on demand, market conditions, and the technical capabilities of our facilities.
This is a new role created to meet the growing need for production optimization as we develop our operations. You will be an important part of our continued development where new production resources and increased focus on the energy market place high demands on analysis, planning, and coordination.
A large part of your work involves developing production strategies, making forecasts, and optimizing our production based on electricity prices, heating demand, fuel availability, and operational conditions. You are responsible for bidding on the electricity market and ancillary services market.
You work in close collaboration with the operations organization and control room, where you are an important support in operational planning, particularly when conditions change or disruptions occur. The role also involves close cooperation with Göteborg Energi regarding the overall optimization of the district heating system, where dialogue, collaboration, and the ability to make well-founded decisions are critical.
Beyond production planning, you work with monitoring and analysis of production results, production costs, and key metrics. You identify improvement opportunities, analyze deviations, and drive the development of work methods and processes.
The role also includes responsibility as an operations engineer for district cooling, where you work with operational optimization, water quality, analysis of operational disruptions, and planning together with the maintenance organization.
You report to the Operations Manager and are part of an experienced team of operations engineers, process engineer, environmental engineer, and fuel manager. On-call duties may be part of the position.
Who Are You
We are looking for someone who enjoys analyzing complex relationships and turning them into well-founded decisions. You are structured, analytical, and have a strong interest in energy systems and production optimization. At the same time, you are communicative and find it easy to collaborate with both operations staff, colleagues, and external partners.
You are confident in making decisions even when conditions change rapidly and are motivated by finding the best overall solution from both a technical and business perspective.
We believe you have:
Post-secondary education in energy, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
A few years of experience in production planning, energy optimization, or operation of energy facilities.
Experience with combined heat and power production, district heating, or other process industries is a merit.
Good administrative skills and very good experience working in digital systems and Excel.
Experience with analysis tools or optimization systems is a merit.
B-category driver's license.
As we are a security-classified operation, we always conduct background checks on final candidates.
