Producer for the Program Department – Events and Venues Unit

Umeå is known for its creative climate with a rich and inspiring cultural life. Here you'll find, among other things, the cultural center Väven, an opera house, museums, festivals, and a wide range of performing arts and events. We are now seeking a producer for the Program Department, Events and Venues Unit, with primary placement at Väven. The unit includes several producers, technicians, booking coordinators, program coordinators, communicators, and other staff who together enable a large number of public events throughout the year. Your Responsibilities As a producer, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events at Väven. The role encompasses both work with guest performances and self-produced events. The work includes, among other things: - Plan and coordinate the conditions for events to be executed - Serve as a contact person for visiting organizers, performers, and staff related to events - Collect, quality assure, and convey information to relevant professional groups, such as technicians, communicators, and booking functions - Drive events independently from idea through execution and follow-up - Establish budgets and monitor financial results - Negotiate contracts with artists, booking agencies, and other partners - Develop collaborations with associations, cultural actors, and other external parties - Follow developments in cultural life and monitor the external environment to contribute to a relevant and attractive program offering You work both independently and together with colleagues and partners. The role requires that you can manage many processes simultaneously and create good conditions for events to be executed with high quality. About You To thrive in this role, we see that you are organized, solution-oriented, and experienced in driving processes forward. You have a strong ability to create and maintain relationships. You are communicative and collaboration-oriented and work well with many different actors simultaneously. Since the business is event-driven, you need to be able to prioritize, take initiative, and handle multiple parallel projects without losing sight of the big picture. Requirements for the Position - Relevant post-secondary education in cultural production, project management, events, event organization, or other education that the employer deems equivalent - Experience planning, coordinating, and executing cultural events, events, or similar activities - Knowledge of performing arts, music, or event production - Experience with project management or production management - Experience with budget work and follow-up - Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both spoken and written - Good knowledge of the Office package and digital work tools - B driver's license Meritorious - Experience working in public cultural activities - Experience negotiating and drafting contracts - Experience collaborating with associations, civil society, or cultural actors - Experience working in booking or planning systems Other Information The position is a temporary contract, full-time, starting January 4, 2027 through December 31, 2027.
