We are currently seeking several priests for our pastoral team where we together serve as the church in Västerås, a city that is growing and developing! – The Church of Sweden in Västerås is in an exciting phase where we together are trying to shape the church of the future, says Dean Daniel Eklund. Västerås is a growing city and the Church of Sweden has a presence in all different parts of the municipality. Here there is a diversity of contexts, congregations and work teams that operate in different locations, in the city and in rural areas, in different roles, but always in collaboration with each other. Together we ensure that people can celebrate worship, that those who wish can participate in education, and that those in need receive help and support through our diaconal work. In our different congregations there is room for both tradition and new thinking, reflection and action. The positions that are currently vacant are varied – some more traditionally grounded, others with special focus on areas such as youth work – but the foundation is the same: a rooted priestly identity in the Church of Sweden, where the pastoral mission is central. We expect that you are a member of the Church of Sweden and that you share our values. You have experience of worship life, pastoral care and education, but also of collaborating with volunteers and working strategically with activity planning. You need to have good IT skills as well as a driver's license and access to a car since our positions are located in different parts of the pastoral area. Depending on the position's focus, additional qualifications may be relevant. We are happy to match your application with the position that best suits your experience and preferences. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward. We also believe that you are calm, stable and composed, even under stress. You are confident, have self-awareness and the ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. Finally, we believe you have well-developed communication skills where you are both a good speaker and an active listener. All positions involve permanent employment with 100% full-time work where day, evening and weekend shifts occur.
