The Southeastern Jämtland Parish consists of 16 congregations in Berg, Östersund, Bräcke, and Ragunda municipalities. The parish's approximately 100 employees work where present meets history; from the ski resort Klövsjö, the cross-country skiing gold town Åsarna, the Torvalla district in Östersund, to the area where Vildhussen's careless excavation work once created Döda fallet. Now we are seeking a priest for the Church of the Holy Light in Torvalla About the position: Your assignment is to serve as a parish priest in Torvalla, a suburb of Östersund that belongs to the Brunflo congregation. The Church of the Holy Light is located in Torvalla and is a collaborative church with the EFS, a lay movement within the Church of Sweden. The church is centrally located and many people walk in or pass by the church daily on their way to and from shops, work, or school. As a priest here, you will have the opportunity to meet people of different ages and from different cultures. The Church of Sweden collaborates with both community organizations and the municipality in several different ways. As a priest in Torvalla, you will work both with deepening conversations about existential questions and Christian faith, as well as with traditional priestly duties such as services, religious ceremonies, confirmation work, and youth activities. To succeed in this role, we see that you are secure in your self-image, in your assignment, and in your faith. We expect that you are curious and have a willingness to meet people in different life circumstances, that you are creative and take initiative, and are responsive to your colleagues. We are looking for someone who creates and maintains good relationships, who can organize and set boundaries for yourself and the work team so that the activities remain sustainable.
