Responsibilities Within the Formas-funded Center for Resilient Meals (PLATE), research is conducted on how the meal sector can transition so that meals offered meet principles of sustainability, resilience/preparedness, good taste, health, and competitiveness/profitability. Together with a large group of partners from the food sector (public and private actors), the research examines, among other things, how meals should be designed to be resilient, how they are received by meal guests, how actors can build competitiveness and profitability around resilient meals, and how the transition of the meal sector can be shaped and supported. The research also includes a work package on supply chains and distribution, which this position will primarily focus on. The work package's research spans questions related to regional and diversified value chains, public procurement, inventory management and public-private collaboration, as well as synergies and conflicts between goals of sustainability, preparedness, and profitability. The work package has a particular focus on public meals (municipalities and regions). Your tasks will be to plan, carry out, and publish research in line with the Center's objectives, and specifically in relation to work package 3. You will also communicate results directly to partners, to other stakeholders, at scientific conferences, and at other types of seminars and workshops. The exact content of your postdoctoral project will be formulated together with the senior researchers within the work package and based on the needs of non-academic partners. In addition to knowledge in, and a genuine interest in, resilience and sustainability issues within the food and meal sector, we want you to be interested in case study methodology, able to use both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and have a prior understanding of the Swedish context in general, and the public sector in particular. As a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Technology (SEED), you will be part of an interdisciplinary environment with great exchange between research areas. Within the position, up to 20% of your time can be spent on teaching, if needed by the department. Teaching assignments will extend your time as a postdoctoral researcher accordingly. Qualifications Requirements Completed doctorate degree, scheduled dissertation date, or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctorate.
