Job Responsibilities
Game theory is rapidly gaining ground as the natural framework for decision-making in multiagent systems across several technical applications. However, unlike optimization, game theory lacks mature, general-purpose solvers. Computing an equilibrium in a non-cooperative game among multiple agents involves solving a large-scale generalized equation, and existing solutions rely on restrictive assumptions, provide no control over which equilibrium is returned, and scale poorly. This position addresses the computational side of this gap.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a solid background in one or more of the following areas: game theory, optimization algorithms, and numerical methods for optimal control. The successful candidate will develop efficient algorithms and computational tools for equilibrium computation in multiagent games. The work will focus on:
Scalable algorithms for various types of equilibrium problems in games;
Open-source computational tools and benchmarks;
Real-time and embedded applications of game-theoretic solvers.
