The Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Bioscience (PLE) at Lund University is located at Kemicentrum, one of the largest centers in the Nordic region for education and research in chemistry. PLE has approximately 150 employees, of which approximately 65 are doctoral students. Description of the Workplace
The Division of Food and Pharmaceuticals conducts research in both food science and pharmaceutical technology. Research areas within the pharmaceutical division include lipid nanoparticles for RNA delivery, protein corona formation on lipid nanoparticles, formulations of therapeutic proteins, protein interactions with excipients, and drying and dry formulations. All this research requires advanced characterization methods to study interactions, structure, and behavior.
The research group has a well-established collaboration with the large-scale research facilities MAX IV and ESS, which provides unique opportunities for cutting-edge research as well as access to international research networks and collaborations. Advanced methods for X-ray and neutron scattering are central tools in several ongoing projects.
The division consists of researchers with broad and complementary expertise, including professors, researchers, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students, and technical staff. This creates an interdisciplinary and international research environment with close collaboration between different research areas. The workplace is located at Lund University of Technology, LTH, in Lund and offers access to modern research infrastructure as well as close collaboration with industrial and academic partners.
