F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala Airport. The squadron is also responsible for the surveillance of Swedish airspace 24/7, year-round, and leads the Air Force's fighter aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the global situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, Garrison Company, and Training Company that together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on their main mission. The Battalion's role and tasks are developing rapidly to meet the new tasks and challenges facing Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces. The Training Company trains soldiers, officers, and volunteers for F 16 combat units. The Training Platoon with focus on voluntary activities has coordination responsibility for the support that the Air Force and F 16 provide to voluntary defense organizations. This includes planning, budgeting, and supporting the activities of voluntary organizations at central, regional, and local levels. Certain collaboration may occur with the Air Force's other voluntary sectors located at Luleå, Såtenäs, Linköping, Halmstad, and Ronneby. The platoon consists of a platoon commander and a training superintendent. Voluntary activities include training in: Support to Voluntary Organizations' Basic Training of volunteer soldiers, GU-F. Support of voluntary training conducted by voluntary defense organizations for war-time positions in the Services and Armed Forces. Support for youth activities within the Swedish Armed Forces' contacts with young people. Support for Instructor Training for voluntary organizations. Main Responsibilities Plan, budget, administer, and support the implementation of voluntary and youth training Responsible for communication and follow-up of laws/regulations concerning personnel in voluntary organizations Act as quality assurer in planning and implementation of voluntary training. Serve as a manager with personnel responsibility. Support the Air Force General Staff FRIV in central dialogue with voluntary organizations. Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team.
