Together, the activities of the main assignment create the conditions for good health, an attractive, accessible and vibrant urban environment, countryside and nature, a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment, a rich offering of culture, sports, leisure, and good infrastructure. The Planning Unit is part of the Main Assignment Society and currently consists of nine ambitious and pleasant colleagues, of which 8 are planning architects and 1 is an administrator. We are primarily responsible for the municipality's detailed planning within the framework of the Planning and Building Act, and our goal is to promote sustainable community development with good architecture in all the detailed plans we work with. We naturally feel a great responsibility for our assignment and always take great responsibility for our own work. As part of this, we naturally also offer the opportunity to work remotely a few days a week to the extent that work allows. We greatly value our good cohesion and we believe that good well-being is a key to also doing good work. Every year we offer competence development through both courses and conferences, but we also go on a study trip every year. During 2026 we visited Amsterdam for 3 rewarding days. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a planning architect with us, you will drive your own detailed planning projects from early stages to adoption and implementation. You will work with both simpler and complex assignments within, for example, residential development, densification, urban transformation, operations, and socially important infrastructure. The role involves you taking great personal responsibility for driving your projects forward. You are responsible for planning, schedule, budget, coordination, and progress, and work closely with colleagues, other municipal competencies, and external actors. You balance different interests and conditions and develop well-founded documentation and recommendations for decision-making. You are responsible for the various stages of the detailed planning process and for ensuring that planning documents and necessary investigations are prepared with the right quality and in a timely manner. You will also serve as an assisting case handler in other projects. The position includes, among other things: • Driving and project managing detailed plans through the entire planning process. • Responsibility for schedule, planning, quality, coordination, and progress. • Preparing and quality-assuring planning documents, plan maps, sketches, and decision documentation. • Coordinating consultants and investigations within, for example, traffic, geotechnics, environment, stormwater, design, or other necessary investigations. • Making assessments between different interests and conditions. • Collaborating with internal and external actors and leading consultations and review processes. • Developing well-founded recommendations and presenting matters for political decisions. • Participating in other planning projects and contributing support and expertise to colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS It is a requirement that you have a relevant university degree in community development, for example physical planning, architecture, or landscape architecture, or alternatively other education that we assess as equivalent. We would like to see that you have a few years of work experience in detailed planning, general planning, or urban planning. However, we also welcome you who are newly graduated to apply. You have an interest in urban development and a good understanding of the detailed planning process. Experience in municipal planning, project management, focused detailed planning, the Adobe suite, and design are merits. We are looking for someone who is engaged, structured, and independent, with the ability to work independently as well as together with others. You are clear and responsive in your communication and enjoy handling different perspectives and interests in the planning process. It is a requirement that you have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written. On-site interviews will preliminarily be held on the dates below.
