Competition for a Researcher position at the Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia The Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia (MoES Educational Institution Reg. No. 381016, VAT Reg. No. LV90002124925) announces a competition for the following academic positions: Physics and Astronomy (Natural Sciences) Researcher – 7 full-time positions In the application, candidates must specify the field and position for which they wish to apply. Position objective: Conducting scientific research in the field of physics. Main responsibilities: Conduct scientific research in accordance with approved methodology, work programs, and deadlines; Collect, compile, and analyze scientific information; prepare reports and documentation; Conduct experiments, process, and systematize obtained results; Prepare scientific publications and participate in conferences; Participate in training of new researchers and regularly follow developments in the field of science. Requirements for candidates: Doctoral or Master's degree; At least 2 years of experience in research work; experience in project implementation and/or management will be considered an advantage; Publications in the scientific sub-field; Ability to conduct independent scientific work; Proficiency in using computer programs. Persons in academic positions are elected for six years. Salary – from 10.00 EUR/h Deadline for submission of applications: October 5, 2026.
