Riga Technical University reg. No. 90000068977 announces a competition for vacant scientific staff positions: FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ENERGY at the Institute of Applied Computer Systems for one (1) RESEARCHER position (1.0 FTE) – in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies. In the sub-field of Systems Analysis, Modeling and Design. Duties and Requirements: · Prepare reports, statements, findings and other documents on conducted research and results. · Develop the field of electrical engineering, electronics, information and communication technologies science, promote its achievements and findings. · Required education: M.Sc.Eng. · Strong Python and C++ programming skills. · Experience with ROS/ROS 2, Linux and Git. · Understanding of radar data processing, sensor calibration and data synchronization. · Experience with computer vision, machine learning or deep learning models. · Ability to work with simulation environments and synthetic data generation. · Skill in analyzing experimental data and documenting results. Experience, Knowledge, Competencies: · Understanding of the nuances of implementing EC-funded projects, experience in project activity implementation, scientific publications in the project field, ability to conduct scientific research work. · Excellent knowledge of Latvian and English languages for conducting research. Salary: 18 EUR/h gross. Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) to the Personnel Management Department of Riga Technical University at the email address ([email protected]): an application addressed to the Rector regarding participation in the competition; a curriculum vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, organizational work experience and a list of published works over the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate attachment), as well as other documents the candidate wishes to attach to the application to more fully describe their qualifications; copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency level, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in the competition for employment at RTU for the first time and the Department of Human and Organizational Development has not previously received copies of these documents; a public presentation of a report on your scientific activities, which must be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before election. When applying for the first time, the CV should include a link to the candidate's created and, if possible, completed ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/). When a candidate applies repeatedly, the CV should include a link to the created ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/) containing: - provided information at least on - candidate's biography, previous and current employment, education, scientific publications and projects from the last 6 years; - attached links to the employee's Web of Science profile (ResearcherID) and SCOPUS profile (Scopus Author ID), if the author has indexed publications in these bibliographic databases. The competition deadline is one month from the date of publication of the announcement on the State Employment Agency website and the National Scientific Activity Information System.
