At our client Tindra's, we've made a major decision and need to expand the team. We're looking for you—someone empathetic with a big heart who is genuinely open to sharing it. Tindra needs staff who invest in her life and who genuinely want to commit to a long-term, engaged employment. She forms attachments to her caregivers, so you need to be prepared to let her get close to you. She lives in her own townhouse in the southern parts of Stenungsund. A driver's license and experience driving a manual car are required for the position. Total smoke-free environment is another requirement Tindra has. As a personal assistant to Tindra, you need to be active and resourceful, ready for each day to look different while many things are recurring. All to create security and predictability in her life. You will participate in all activities and support Tindra in every way she needs. Everything from ADL activities to outings and scheduled activities. You will be one of 9 assistants in her group and will receive thorough introduction from those already working here. We want to be clear that we're looking for two people who take a long-term view of their employment and are willing to work hard to get along together. This is important because the client requires dual assistance at certain times, meaning you work in pairs with the client. There is a small dog in the family, so you cannot be allergic to dogs or afraid of them. Assistant's Role and Experience The client has autism combined with severe intellectual disability and epilepsy and therefore needs assistants who are skilled at reading her daily mood. You need to be able to adjust expectations based on how she feels and what she can manage—and that's where, when you succeed, you'll get direct feedback from her that you click. She likes hugs and showing appreciation to her assistants, so it's important that you can "hug back" genuinely in these situations. Tindra needs a clear visual schedule and to know what will happen next, so if you have experience working with visual supports and sign language, that's highly appreciated. You may have some form of pedagogical training and experience working in a home environment. To succeed in this job, you also need experience working with a low-affect approach and be accustomed to challenging behavior, as her condition can vary over time. Desirable Experience Previous work with autism. Knowledge and experience of low-affect approach. Like being physically active, such as cycling, swimming, long walks, etc. Fluent Swedish speaker. Interest in singing and music, and preferably play an instrument. Ability to read and follow the client based on her daily mood. Work Time/Employment Level 50% part-time position with 1 of 4 weekends. 80% part-time position with 2 of 4 weekends. Start at the end of summer with introduction. We plan to adapt the schedule initially 9–18, then gradually transition to regular hours 7–15 and 15–22 once Tindra has adjusted. About Salary We apply salary according to Fremia.
