Personal Assistants Needed for the Disability Sector Pool
The Personal Assistance Unit is currently recruiting three engaged assistants for the Disability Sector pool. We are looking for you to take the next step in your professional development and contribute your dedication in a flexible and dynamic role. As a pool assistant, you will work in a stimulating environment with excellent opportunities to develop in your professional role. The assignment involves staffing various types of personal assistance services located throughout Östersund municipality. The client base spans all ages from children to seniors, making the work both varied and meaningful. The pool's task is to cover both emergency and planned absences of up to 14 days and to serve as a resource to enhance quality of life for citizens or increase service quality. Work follows a flexible schedule with day, evening, night, and 24-hour shifts. To thrive in this role, you need to feel comfortable working independently and be prepared to work 24-hour shifts. You will work 2 out of 6 weekends, Friday through Sunday, and the schedule is planned annually every sixth week in close collaboration with your team. Longer periods can be planned during summer and Christmas. We offer a permanent position and two temporary contracts covering 6 months with potential extension. With a full-time position, you receive 14 days off during a six-week period. A probationary period will be applied, and start date is by mutual agreement. Your New Job As a personal assistant in the pool, you work in a competent team that you meet every sixth week at the unit's workplace meeting (APT), where we also have regular peer supervision. In your work, you provide support to citizens based on their individual needs and circumstances, following the activity plan for the day. You perform your duties in various settings and may work at several different locations within the municipality during a week. You help citizens manage their daily lives, provide care, and support them through various challenges both at home and in the community. You participate in activities and collaborate with everyone you meet in your work. Your assignment is to create good conditions through guidance, support, and care to enable citizens to live as independently and securely as possible. You work closely with your manager and two coordinators, who are available to support you in your assignment. The unit has a district nurse who assists you with the responsibilities that come with delegated tasks under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). You may have various types of delegations as required by the service, for example insulin administration, tracheostomy care, and feeding tubes. You also need to be able to travel to and work at locations throughout the municipality and be interested in working with all age groups, from children to our elderly. The work can also be physically demanding. Typical Work Tasks Basic care and personal hygiene. Daily chores, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Social support and guidance in citizens' daily lives. Participation in various activities with citizens. Documentation in Viva. Handling delegated tasks. Your Qualifications Requirements Trained nursing assistant, care assistant, or equivalent education in healthcare or education that the employer deems appropriate. Class B driver's license and access to your own vehicle. Good Swedish language skills in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension. Meritorious Experience in care and social services work. Experience with similar tasks. Good computer skills. Experience working with people with various types of disabilities. Experience working with children with various types of disabilities. Good knowledge of basic care. Good knowledge of delegated tasks.
