The Position: Our team is growing and we are now looking for 2 assistants at 70-75% (the boy has dual assistance around the clock). Hi there! Our boy is a ray of sunshine who loves to smile! He uses a wheelchair (which you will operate), has epilepsy, and is fed via PEG. He cannot speak verbally and has an intellectual disability, so his mental age is much younger than his physical age. Your willingness to communicate on his terms is important, as good interaction is a big part of the work. Do you have experience with PEG, breathing issues, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy? That's a huge plus! He has a progressive disease and changes in care and needs occur from time to time, so you need to be familiar with his routines, which are adjusted monthly. He lives every other week with his mom and dad. Dad lives centrally in Stockholm and mom in Bromma. Your superpowers on the job: As a personal assistant, you'll be our hero on site and provide support in all kinds of situations. Your tasks include: Diaper changes, showering, and support during meals (PEG feeding). Walks, play, stretching, and physical therapy. Quick response to breathing difficulties and epileptic seizures. Night watch, primarily due to epilepsy, reflux, breathing, and position changes. Your Profile: Childcare-oriented, present, attentive, and caring. Not afraid of medical care. The boy has a progressive disease and his health can change quickly. You need to be very alert and stress-resilient. Present, reliable, and thorough. Responsible, understanding, and punctual. Positive and in good spirits at work. You arrive on time, follow routines, and take initiative when needed. You're good at absorbing written instructions and meeting deadlines. You'd rather ask too many times than too few to provide the right care.
