About the client and workplace
We are now seeking a personal assistant for a 22-year-old man who lives in Tungelsta. He has autism combined with a physical disability and needs personal assistance for his daily life to function.
The client has a strong interest in video games, and it would be an advantage if you as an assistant share this interest, as it can contribute to natural communication and a good relationship in daily life. As an assistant, you will become an important part in enabling both his everyday routines and leisure interests.
Work tasks include help with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, and communication. Communication is handled in an individualized way, and you and the client will together find working strategies for daily life. The work requires presence, patience, and the ability to create security and structure.
At hjelpa, assistance is always designed based on the individual's needs, which means that work tasks may vary and that you as an assistant need to be flexible and engaged.
Who are we looking for?
As a personal assistant, you are expected to have good collaboration skills, be communicative, responsible, and attentive. You are respectful in your interactions and have an interest in building relationships and working long-term.
Experience working with autism, personal assistance, or care and support is a merit but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have the right attitude, can work in a structured manner, and feel confident in your role.
You need to have very good ability to communicate in Swedish, as communication with the client is a central part of the work.
Employment terms
Employment type: Permanent
Employment degree: Full-time or part-time
Work hours are scheduled on weekdays from 15:30–22:00 with subsequent on-call duty from 22:00–08:30. Work also occurs on weekends, where shifts are from 08:30–18:00 and 18:00–08:30 (including on-call duty). Schedule is determined in dialogue.
Additional information
The work can be physically demanding and includes transfers. Introduction and shadowing will be arranged before you work independently.
