Personal assistance is needs-assessed support that enables people with disabilities to participate in society to the greatest extent possible and live independent lives with the help of a personal assistant. This operation is part of the care and welfare sector in Skövde Municipality. The care and welfare sector has an important social mission. DUTIES We are looking for someone who wants engaging and developmental work. As a personal assistant, you have the opportunity to contribute to quality of life for our service users. Our work is based on our core values of safety, responsibility, and respectful treatment, and you are a large and important part of the service user's well-being. You work carefully and professionally with service users, both inside and outside their home environment, in collaboration with the rest of the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professions and relatives. As a personal assistant, you work from the service user's individual needs, wishes, and implementation plan to best support and help the individual achieve the highest possible quality of life in their daily life. The work also includes service tasks, such as preparing simple meals, doing dishes, laundry, and cleaning. You assist the service user with mobility and personal hygiene. You work with clarifying pedagogy and clear routines. Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the work. Within the care and welfare sector, we work flexibly across different units. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with upper secondary education and approved grades from a care and welfare program or children and leisure program, or equivalent education. We would like to see that you have post-secondary education in an area relevant to the activity, for example personal assistant training or treatment assistant training. It is positive (but not required) if you have experience working with mental or physical disabilities and/or experience working according to Individual Needs in Focus, IBIC. Experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal interaction, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is also meritorious. As a person, you are calm and confident and have a respectful, kind, and appropriate manner and find it easy to build relationships. You are a service-oriented person who puts the individual's needs at the center. To succeed in this role, we see that you are good at collaborating with colleagues, service users, relatives, and other partners both within and outside the organization. You are solution-focused and adapt easily to new conditions. To thrive in this role, you need to be proactive, take personal responsibility in your professional role, and be accustomed to working independently. As the service user has a pet dander allergy, it is not appropriate for you as an applicant to have pets. The service user requests a female assistant. To work for us, you need a category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles. In this role, it is important that you can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the service user need to understand each other, but also to be able to carry out documentation.
