We are now seeking a personal assistant for a 14-year-old boy living west of Ronneby. The position is 75% and involves working afternoons/evenings, including weekends. Some hours will involve two-person support.
We place great emphasis on personal chemistry and personal qualities. You must not be allergic to animals. The boy has Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and type 1 diabetes. Communication occurs through iPad and sign language support. You must get to know the boy well to understand his needs. The boy receives nutrition through manual tube feeding. All training is provided through introduction with experienced assistants.
Access to your own car is required to reach the workplace, as public transportation is not available.
As a person, you must be responsible, attentive, flexible, have good patience, and be able to take initiative and adapt your work to the client's needs. You must have a strong ability to read needs and wishes even when these are not expressed verbally.
The nature of the work requires fluency in speaking and understanding Swedish, for example the ability to understand and read various instruction lists and checklists, follow established routines, document, and communicate via iPad.
You must be 18 years old or older to work as a personal assistant.
