We are now seeking a personal assistant for a 14-year-old boy living west of Ronneby. One position is 100% and one is 75%, with varying work hours (afternoons and evenings, including weekends and some nights), with certain hours requiring two staff members.
We place great importance on personal chemistry and personal qualities. You must not be allergic to animals. The boy has Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and type 1 diabetes. Communication occurs through iPad and sign language as support. You must get to know the boy well to understand his needs. The boy receives nutrition through manual tube feeding. All training occurs through introduction with experienced assistants.
Access to your own car is required to get to the workplace, as public transportation is not available.
As a person, you must be responsible, attentive, flexible, have good patience, be able to take initiative, and adapt your work to the service user's needs. You must have a good ability to perceive needs and wishes even when these are not expressed verbally.
The nature of the work requires that you speak and understand Swedish fluently, for example being able to understand and read various instruction sheets and checklists, follow established procedures, document, and communicate via the iPad.
To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.
