We especially value candidates who see this as a long-term opportunity. The job involves assisting a fun and cheerful 20-year-old guy. He has a CP injury and uses a wheelchair. Communication is limited, but that doesn't prevent his desire and interest in expressing what he thinks and feels, cracking jokes, or choosing activities. Since the guy enjoys board games, video games, and swimming in the pool, it would be a bonus if you enjoy these things too, so you can help out and have fun challenging him. In addition to fun and games, the role includes personal care, daily chores, lifting, exercise, stretching, and massage. Currently we're looking for a personal assistant for a position of just over 76%, starting as a temporary worker during the introduction period. The assistance consists of double staffing 24/7 with awake nights. It's a large team working together, so it's important that you enjoy being part of a group where you give and take and respect each other's differences. We have a team leader who is available during the assistance and works closely with the user and assistants. There's also proximity to a customer manager who is involved in the assistance and contributes with the employer role. Beyond ensuring the user's best interests, it's good if you're physically strong as there's quite a bit of lifting involved. If you have medical knowledge, we see that as a merit.
