Personal assistant for an energetic 9-year-old boy. About the Job I'm now looking to expand my team with more available assistants! We're seeking someone who wants to work as a substitute/hourly assistant over the summer with the possibility of a more permanent schedule in the fall. I'm an energetic boy who needs someone willing to work in various capacities with opportunities for both daytime (at home and school) and overnight care with me. My disability is significant and I need help with many things like eating and moving around. My favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus" and I love listening to it all the time. Despite my age, I'm younger developmentally, and I'm a kind boy who needs closeness. My assistants are part of the family, and it's important that we all get along well together so that things work out as well as possible for everyone involved. The Assignment To be able to work with me, you need to have some work experience. Experience with tube feeding and other work with people with disabilities is a plus. The person working with me will sometimes join me at school and on certain shifts be awake with me at night—sometimes I sleep, and sometimes I'm awake. My parents are always home, so even though there's a lot of responsibility with me, my parents are always available if anything comes up. As a person, someone working with me needs to be attentive, responsible, patient, and have a positive attitude. We live about 15 km outside of Umeå, so access to a car is preferred, but it's not required as there are buses near the home. There is a dog in the home, so if you're allergic, this job isn't right for you. We provide training until you feel confident in the workplace.
