Personal Assistant for Young Woman - Central Uppsala We are seeking an engaged and reliable personal assistant for a young woman who lives just a five-minute walk from Uppsala Central Station. She is a social, warm, and humorous person who enjoys talking, laughing, and sharing thoughts about life. She loves to read, especially classics, but her favorites also include the Linnea books and Astrid Lindgren's books. She works at NOVA, a daily activity center where they publish a magazine monthly. She is part of the editorial team and writes her own articles on topics she finds interesting. Once a week she rides horses, and she tries to exercise and stretch regularly to maintain her mobility. She has cerebral palsy and a mild intellectual disability. She uses a Permobil wheelchair and needs support with all daily activities, including personal and intimate care. As a personal assistant, you will be an important support in her daily life—both practically and socially. We are looking for someone who can work both weekdays and weekends, including night on-call shifts. It is important that you are comfortable around horses, as helping out in the stable is an important part of the assistants' duties. Work tasks include, among other things: Assistance with hygiene and personal care Support with mobility and daily activities Help around the home (meals, cleaning, planning the day, etc.) Accompanying her to riding and other activities outside the home Providing companionship, conversation, and a reliable support in daily life We are looking for you who: Are calm, attentive, and responsible Work well in collaboration and build trust easily Are positive, patient, and ideally have a sense of humor Are comfortable working closely with another person Have good Swedish speaking skills and understanding Previous experience in personal assistance or care is a merit, but personal suitability is most important. The scope of the position and employment form will be discussed further with the right candidate. The employment is for a fixed period as long as the assistance assignment lasts, and the pay form is hourly wages. Working hours vary according to the customer's needs: day, evening, night (active and on-call), weekdays and weekends.
