About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating existing ones, and expanding our operations. We are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transportation. Learning Center is a national organization where the Adult Education Section provides education to clients of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. Each prison in the country and certain remand facilities have one or more learning centers where teachers provide instruction at primary and upper secondary levels, equivalent to municipal adult education, as well as Swedish language courses for immigrants. Adult education is nationally coordinated and organized so that studies function regardless of which facility a client is assigned to, and even if they are transferred during their studies. Job Description Clients who need education can apply for and be assigned to adult education programs. Teaching is individualized and takes place at the facility's learning center. You will support students and teachers, both practically and pedagogically, in your role as pedagogical instructor. The teaching instructor may be located locally or work remotely at another facility. This means that in your position, you will have continuous contact and collaboration with teachers and colleagues throughout the country. Children and young people in remand facilities who are enrolled at a primary or upper secondary school in the community receive assistance in establishing contact with the relevant school to continue their studies - you are the link between the student and the school. Qualifications In your role as pedagogical instructor, you are a skilled educator with the desire and ability to motivate, inspire, and guide students toward their goals. You are clear and committed in your work and have a strong ability to create structure and organization. The work is conducted both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, which is why strong collaboration and initiative skills are important qualities, as is the ability to work independently. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group membership affect you and others. We are seeking someone who has: - Upper secondary school diploma - Experience working in pedagogical activities in upper secondary school and/or adult education - Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish - Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems It is also advantageous to have: - Pedagogical education with a focus on school Please attach certificates of your education to your application.
