Oxievångsskolan is seeking an educator with strong diabetes expertise for our after-school program!
As an educator, you will work together with your colleagues to ensure that the after-school program and school meet the goals and intentions of the curriculum. Together with your team, you will create the conditions necessary to promote each student's development and learning. In your role, you work actively and independently, but in collaboration with teaching staff in grade 6 during school hours and with base educators in the after-school program in one of our afternoon groups. You will be responsible for our students with diabetes, so it is very important that you, as an applicant, have expertise and experience working with students with diabetes.
At Oxievångsskolan, we work with a shared commitment to students' language development and reading. After-school care is an important part of this work, and it is valuable if you have a strong interest in students' language development.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with at least 120 credits relevant to the school's needs and curriculum. This could be, for example, in pedagogy or language. Previous experience from similar work is a merit. You have knowledge and experience working with diabetes. To succeed in your role, you must have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents as well as knowledge of digital tools. It is positive if you have knowledge of and experience working with students on the autism spectrum and you adapt your approach based on the students' needs in the group.
As a person, you are attentive to students' needs, a present and active adult in interaction with our students, lead yourself, take initiative, and contribute to the activities in collaboration with colleagues based on your expertise. You build strong relationships, are calm and low-key in your approach, and handle students, guardians, and situations with composure. You have a good eye for what this particular student or group needs and vary and adapt learning situations accordingly so students develop according to their abilities. You always prioritize the student's best interest and work to accommodate students with special needs throughout the day. Collaboration between school and after-school care is our shared responsibility and happens throughout the day for our students' benefit. With us, our students should feel that we genuinely care. About the Workplace
Oxievångsskolan is a school for grades F-9 where we work to ensure every student succeeds throughout their time with us. Grades F-6 are in a separate building and are single-stream from preschool to grade 5. Grade 6 is double-stream. At Oxievångsskolan F-6, we are a team that works closely together and supports one another. We support each other and analyze and develop instruction together for students' best learning. Oxievångsskolan is part of the City of Malmö and is located in Oxie, just south of Malmö. You can easily reach the school by car, bus, or train.
