Position: Assistant to the Chief of Municipal Police
Smiltenes novada Municipal Police (Reg. No. 40900038044) is hiring an Assistant to the Chief.
We invite an experienced and responsible colleague to join our team who is ready to take on a significant role in maintaining public order and safety in Smiltenes novads, planning and directing municipal police operations, and representing the municipality's interests.
If you have experience in law, the ability to lead a team and make responsible decisions, you master regulatory provisions, and you are motivated by the opportunity to develop effective and lawful police work – we are looking for you!
Your main job responsibilities:
perform the duties of the Municipal Police Chief during his absence or at his request, ensuring the legality of the Municipal Police operations, completion of tasks and functions;
review administrative violation cases, make decisions in administrative matters in the manner prescribed by regulatory acts, conduct additional review of the administrative violation proceedings investigated;
plan and organize the work of Municipal Police officers, prepare work schedules;
implement and organize preventive measures for public order and safety.
We will appreciate in you:
compliance with the requirements of paragraph 1 of Section 21 of the Law "On Police";
higher education (legal sciences will be considered an advantage);
experience in police or other law enforcement agency;
state language proficiency at the highest level and at least one official EU language at the level required for professional activities;
experience in document preparation and processing;
good computer skills;
good communication skills, high sense of responsibility;
good physical fitness and stress resilience;
Category B driver's license (driving experience of at least 3 years).
