RIGA CITY MUNICIPALITY OUTDOOR SPACES AND MOBILITY DEPARTMENT announces a competition for a vacant position Maintenance Directorate Street Surface and Transport Structures Maintenance Division DEPUTY HEAD (the position has the status of a state official) (full-time work for a fixed term) The Riga City Municipality's Outdoor Spaces and Mobility Department (hereinafter - the Department) is the leading institution of Riga City Municipality in the field of traffic, transport (including public transport services) and external lighting, ensuring the organization of maintenance, design and construction of transport infrastructure facilities, supervision, coordination, control of the city's public transport services and passenger commercial transport, resolution and coordination of traffic organization and traffic safety issues, maintenance of the city's public transport system and development of system concepts, attraction of investments for the implementation of approved concepts, organization of operation, repairs, decorative lighting management of Riga City Municipality's external lighting networks, maintenance and management of street lighting, traffic lights and street clocks, technical operations and operation of mechanisms, ensuring maintenance of territories belonging to or owned by the municipality, restoration of objects in the municipality's possession and public use, and implementation of territory improvement projects. We will entrust you with: Ensuring inspection of the condition of inner courtyard access roads, sidewalks and square surfaces in the administrative territory of Riga City Municipality, submission of proposals for their improvement, implementation of repair (restoration) work in accordance with allocated financial resources. Coordinating maintenance of pipelines and storm water sewers located under courtyards and access roads. Ensuring organization of emergency work in courtyards, including repair or replacement of sewer and storm inspection covers and storm water intake covers. Supervision of division contracts, including control of financial resources utilization and preparation of reports related to contract performance. Ensuring conclusion of contracts for co-financing allocation for daily maintenance of transit streets, ensuring control of contract performance and preparation and submission of necessary reports. We expect: Higher education in the relevant field. High-level state language proficiency. Experience as a construction engineer, in construction supervision or an equivalent position. Good computer skills for working with MS Office standard programs, internet browsers, as well as the ability to learn and use other programs necessary for job duties, ability to work with technical documentation. Good communication, business communication and organizational (management) skills, ability to work in a team, coordinate task performance. Driver's license, category B.
