In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by making children and young people the hub of our municipal organization. Most resources directed toward children and youth have been consolidated under one board. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and individual and family services. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality improvement process to continually develop and enhance our work with children and young people. The Workplace Parkskolan and Blötbergets School are seeking a school counselor who wants to help create security, joy, and development for our students – every day. Here you'll combine your interest in children and youth with a clear public mission, where your work makes a concrete difference both in the school and in society. You'll become an important part of our student welfare team, where we work closely with educators and school leadership to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. Why You'll Want to Work With Us With us, you'll be part of a public sector organization with a strong public mission – here we work for children, youth, and families in reality, not just on paper. We have a strong sense of unity, lots of collaboration, and a culture where we support each other, share knowledge, and celebrate small victories together. Relations, joy, learning, and drive aren't just nice words on a wall – you'll notice them in the hallways, in the break room, and in the classroom. You'll work in a secure organization with clear routines, structures, and support, while we encourage creativity, development, and new approaches. We believe that good student welfare is built on accessibility, long-term thinking, and individualized support – and we want you to both influence and develop how we do this. - Work in engaged teams where the student's best interest is always the center - Have an inclusive work environment with open dialogue, respect, and consideration - Get good opportunities for professional development and specialized training - Benefit from wellness benefits that support your own health and sustainability at work - Able to exchange vacation day supplements according to the municipality's guidelines - Work with structured processes that provide security, clarity, and good conditions in daily life Responsibilities As a school counselor with us, your day involves conversations, relationships, and structures working hand in hand. You'll support students, guardians, and staff with social and psychosocial matters, and you'll be a key person in preventive and health-promoting student welfare work. You'll move between classrooms, meeting rooms, and one-on-one conversations – and you'll often be the one who helps students feel that school is actually "their" place. - Conduct supportive conversations with students, ranging from shorter support talks to more targeted support over time - Be part of the student welfare team and contribute to assessments, intervention programs, and follow-ups - Participate in and sometimes lead meetings with guardians, social services, and other parties involved with the student - Work preventively with security, study environment, school values, and equal treatment at the schools - Support staff in matters of approach, conflict management, and difficult conversations - Document and follow up on interventions according to current routines and legislation Qualifications We're looking for you who: - Have relevant education, such as a degree in social work or an equivalent academic degree - Are confident in conducting conversations with both students, guardians, and collaboration partners - Can express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing, and document according to our routines - Are comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams and actively participating in joint decisions - Have a strong ability to work independently, manage your time, and prioritize between different tasks Personal Qualities We're looking for you who want to be a secure support for students while enjoying close collaboration with colleagues in school and student welfare. You find it easy to build trust, are a good listener, and can combine warmth with clarity. You like structure, but don't lose sight of the person behind all the plans and routines. You don't need to be a "superhero," but you need to like responsibility, have a calm approach, and want to work long-term with students' well-being, social situation, and schooling. You're curious, unpretentious, and are happy to contribute ideas to develop our student welfare work.
