The Parks and Forest Operations unit is responsible for maintaining Halmstad municipality's parks, green areas, and forests. The unit consists of approximately 50 employees during the high season and works with everything from parks, playgrounds, and plantings to nature conservation and forest management. You will be part of Parks and Forest Operations East, where 19 park and forest workers collaborate to develop and maintain the green environments in the eastern parts of Halmstad. Here, our group leader, operations manager, and staff work together as a close-knit team where collaboration, commitment, and professional pride are natural parts of the day. Your Tasks As a park worker with us, you'll be part of an engaged team working together to keep our parks and green spaces beautiful and well-maintained. Your tasks will include lawn care, flower beds and shrubs such as perennials and bushes, playgrounds, hardscaped surfaces, and litter collection. Planting, pruning, and watering also occur regularly. The work uses hand tools and machines such as grass trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge shears, larger ride-on mowers, and more. Work takes place outdoors, which requires the ability to deliver quality results regardless of weather. The work can also be physically demanding. Conditions can sometimes change quickly and planning may need adjustment, so we see that you're flexible as a person and can quickly adapt to new circumstances. Your Qualifications To succeed in the role of park worker, we see that you have upper secondary education in horticulture or have acquired equivalent knowledge through work experience that the employer deems equivalent. Other requirements are: - Class B driver's license for manual transmission - Chainsaw operation license A-B - Plant and pruning knowledge - Experience using various garden machinery - Strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written The following are merits: - Class BE driver's license and experience towing with a trailer - Brush cutter license RB - Work on roads training - Mobile work platforms training To thrive in this role, we're looking for someone who is driven, thorough, responsible, and enjoys collaborating with others.
