Your Workplace At Clinical Chemistry at Central Hospital in Karlstad, you will have the opportunity to combine a qualified and varied physician role with considerable scope to influence and develop the operation. Our analyses and assessments are an important part of the care chain and contribute daily to clinical decisions and safe patient care. Clinical Chemistry is part of Laboratory Medicine Värmland, together with clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. Within the entire operational area, we have approximately 320 employees. With us are around 70 colleagues with various competencies and professions. Biomedical analysts are our largest professional group, and we also have biomedical assistants, chemists, nursing assistants, nurses, and physicians. You will become part of a physician team with a senior physician and a specialist physician. Right now, exciting things are happening within the operation. We are working on, among other things: • Major development projects within our patient-near analysis operation • Implementation and improvements within clinical chemistry's coagulation area • Operational development with various analysis offerings • Quality assurance of laboratory operations • Flow improvements within preanalytical processes The work takes place in close collaboration with methodology managers within various specialty areas of clinical chemistry. This includes hematology, immunology, routine chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and drug screening. In the role, you will primarily work with medical assessments of analyses and supporting the operation and care with diagnostic issues within clinical chemistry. You will share your expertise by mentoring and educating colleagues and other professions. Method development and development work are also a natural part of the assignment. An important part of the work is contact with our customers and partners throughout the Värmland health and medical care system. You will become an important medical expert in the dialogue between the laboratory and care. You will also be part of our council, where you together with colleagues contribute to developing the operation and influencing the path forward. In short – with us you have the opportunity to use your medical expertise, work closely with many different professions, and be involved in shaping how future laboratory medicine in Värmland should develop. Part-time employment may be possible, and some tasks can also be performed remotely. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are seeking someone who is a specialist physician/senior physician with specialist competence in clinical chemistry. If you are a resident physician in the latter part of your training and considering a change, you are also welcome to apply. You are interested in driving and developing clinical chemistry as a service-oriented operation, characterized by high quality and flexibility. You should have good ability to express yourself orally and in writing and can convey knowledge within the subject area to employees and customers. You are committed, stable, attentive, and recognize the importance of collaborating with other professions and with the other disciplines within laboratory medicine.
