About the Operations The Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation (GNR) operations are part of the southern primary care area. GNR has two care units, one focused on rehabilitation (26A) and one for stroke/neurology (26B). Unit 26B cares for patients with neurological diseases, including stroke. The clinic has 5 neurologists, 4 stroke-specialized physicians, and 7 resident physicians in neurology. The neurology clinic is broad and well-established with extensive diagnostic and treatment options. We also have a neurology consultation function linked to the clinic. We are now seeking a chief physician/specialist physician in neurology to join our team at the clinic. Here you will meet a wide variety of patients in outpatient neurology and also work as a consultant to other clinics and departments at the hospital. You will work closely with our clinic nurses, who have specialized expertise in the field. This is a permanent position with a work schedule between 50% to 100%. Both employment level and start date are by agreement. Responsibilities Work primarily at the neurology clinic with outpatient neurology Share the consultation duties during office hours with the other neurologists Ward work may occur on unit 26B Participate in supervision of resident physicians and medical students Qualifications We are looking for someone who For Chief Physician and Specialist Physician: Is a specialist physician in neurology Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written For Chief Physician: Can work independently as on-call backup in neurology, or have overarching competence within your subspecialty with the ability to take overall responsibility Has at least 3 years of clinical full-time service after obtaining specialist competence It is advantageous if you For Chief Physician and Specialist Physician: Have work experience from ward work, outpatient clinic, and on-call backup competence in neurology Have experience working with the Cosmic electronic health record system For Chief Physician: Have a defined medical responsibility and/or knowledge area Have teaching and/or supervision experience Have leadership and administrative experience/education Have a doctoral degree, preferably with active research in a relevant field Have other meriting research credentials To succeed in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities: Integrity Decisiveness Collaboration skills Loyalty Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several of the operations that are most important for residents' ability to participate in society.
