Our Operations Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine is a section at Akademiska Laboratory that provides 24-hour laboratory services and medical expertise for blood transfusions and cell therapy as well as preparations for organ transplants. We conduct research and development in collaboration with Uppsala University. Our operations consist of two specialties: clinical immunology (autoimmunity, allergy, and cellular immunology) and transfusion medicine (blood transfusion and blood donation). Your Assignment At the section, the following work is conducted, among other things: • Selection and management of blood donors • Preparation and control of blood components, blood stem cells, and Langerhans cells for transplantation • Investigation work and laboratory tests prior to blood transfusion, transplantation of organs, tissues, and cells • Autoimmune diagnostics, allergy investigations, and investigations regarding immunodeficiencies • Patient treatment with apheresis techniques On-call and on-duty service is included. We have regular rounds together with various clinics. The section assists other healthcare regions, also during on-call hours. We support each other so that the life puzzle can be solved for all of us regardless of where in life we are. Physician work, which is highly independent, also involves research and development of techniques and routines, so great independence and drive, both in daily clinical work and in scientific contexts, is important. Your Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in clinical immunology and transfusion medicine and have at least 5 years of experience as a specialist physician. You have documented medical knowledge and skills as well as teaching experience and have contributed to development in the field. You have a doctoral degree in medicine. Ongoing research within your specialty is a merit. Expert assessment will be conducted regarding whether the applicant meets Akademiska Hospital's merit requirements for Chief Physician. If you enjoy developing new things, thinking in new ways, and working independently, you will fit well in our team. You also understand the importance of quality and what it means for an accredited operation.
