The activities aim to protect individuals from legal detriment and serve as a social safeguard for vulnerable populations in society—including people with physical and mental disabilities, the elderly, and children. The Guardianship Office operates under the direction of the Nyköping and Oxelösund Guardianship Boards. At our Guardianship Office, you will work with supervision and case handling related to guardianship, administration, and conservatorship for children. We also handle cases concerning guardians for unaccompanied minors. The Guardianship Office is growing, and we need more staff to meet increased demand. We are therefore expanding our operations and seeking two new colleagues for positions as Guardianship Case Handlers. You will become part of a team that currently consists of 8 people. WORK TASKS As a Guardianship Case Handler, you will work to exercise supervision over guardians, administrators, and conservators in their duties. You will perform qualified public administration work and your responsibilities will include: - Investigate, handle, and make decisions in cases concerning guardianship, administration, and conservatorship. - Make decisions based on delegation from the Board and prepare cases for the Board and courts. - Exercise supervision over guardians, administrators, and conservators through review of financial records and accounting documents. - Recruit, train, and support guardians and administrators. - Represent the Board in contact with courts and other authorities. - Make decisions regarding fees and compensation. - Inform citizens about the activities and collaborate with authorities and other stakeholders. Together with your colleagues, you work both independently and as part of a team, with the mission to contribute to legally secure processes and good service. At the Guardianship Office, we continuously work to develop our operations and be an accessible and efficient service. The work involves many contacts with other authorities and members of the community. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with higher education in law, economics, political science, social sciences, or other fields deemed appropriate by the employer. The position requires that you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You should have strong analytical ability, work methodically, and be able to prioritize and make decisions even in complex cases. You should have strong ability to build trust when meeting with individuals and partners. You should have very good digital competence and use digital tools as support in your work. You should have strong administrative ability. It is an advantage if you have: - experience with case handling in public administration, preferably in regulated areas such as family law or administrative law - experience with guardianship matters As a person, we appreciate that you are secure, stable, and thorough.
