What does the role entail?
As production manager, you hold a central position in the theater's management with overall responsibility for production operations. You lead and develop the work of translating artistic visions into well-planned and sustainable productions of high quality.
You work closely with the theater director and other managers, contributing to creating conditions for both artistic development and efficient resource use. The role combines strategic responsibility with operational work, and you are involved throughout the entire production chain.
The production manager reports to the theater director and is part of the theater's management group as well as Scenkonst Öst's overall strategic management work.
The role includes, among other things:
Leading and developing the theater's production operations.
Responsible for season planning and overall production planning.
Ensuring the implementation of productions within given parameters.
Coordinating and promoting collaborations with local cultural life and other institutions.
Responsible for budgets and financial follow-up.
Serving as producer in selected productions.
Developing work methods, processes, and collaboration within the theater.
Participating in strategic work regarding audience development and long-term sustainability.

We are looking for someone with solid experience in performing arts production who thrives at the intersection of artistic ambitions, leadership, and operational management.
You are structured and solution-oriented, with an easy way of prioritizing in complex situations. You build good relationships, collaborate well with different professional groups, and have a genuine interest in getting people to work toward common goals.
The person we are looking for has:
Several years of experience in performing arts production at an institution or equivalent operation.
Documented experience in leadership.
Experience with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility.
Good understanding of artistic processes.
Experience in development and change management.
Very strong ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
Other information:
Employment form: Permanent position, 6-month probationary period applies.
Scope: Full-time.
Start date: By agreement.
