StudentConsulting is now seeking an operational team leader for the picking department at one of our clients in Norrköping. We're looking for someone who wants to be in the midst of operations and who has both the pace and pedagogical skills required to get a team functioning really well together.
About the Position
As a team leader, you'll be something like the captain of the picking department. You work operatively with orders and picking yourself while taking on the additional responsibility of coordinating the work and creating structure for the team throughout the workday.
You need to be able to lift your gaze from individual tasks and see the bigger picture: What needs to be prioritized? Is everyone on task? Which orders and rounds need to be prepared? Is there anyone who needs support or further instructions? What can we do more efficiently?
An important part of the role is about creating momentum and progress. You distribute and coordinate daily work, help colleagues prioritize correctly, and ensure that work in the picking department flows smoothly.
At the same time, you are part of the team and work operatively alongside your colleagues.
You work closely with other team leaders and production managers and become an important link between operational activities and overall production planning.
Your Main Responsibilities
As a team leader, you will, among other things:
Work operatively with picking and order management
Coordinate and distribute daily work within the team
Prepare orders and picking rounds
Ensure that the team gets started and that work maintains the right pace
Prioritize tasks based on operational needs
Introduce, instruct, and train employees
Support colleagues and create clarity in daily work
Work closely with other team leaders and production managers
Identify problems and escalate needs to production management
Take initiative to improve work methods, routines, and processes
Contribute to creating a well-functioning and positive work environment

For this role, we're primarily looking for you who have practical experience in warehouse work, preferably in picking, order management, or similar operations. You understand what it takes to get a warehouse flow functioning and are comfortable working operatively yourself.
You don't necessarily need to have held the title of team leader before. What matters is that you have the right qualities to take on greater responsibility and help people around you succeed.
We believe you are a person with energy, initiative, and natural drive. You don't wait for someone else to solve the situation – you see what needs to be done and act.
At the same time, you are pedagogical. Being a team leader isn't just about saying what needs to be done – you need to be able to explain why, show how, and adapt your communication to different people.
