We are now seeking an Operations Manager with overall responsibility for our traffic operations throughout the Västanhede group, where you will become an important key person and part of the management team. The Operations Manager reports directly to the CEO. The placement location is Avesta, but the geographical work area is essentially all of Central Sweden. You will have overall responsibility for all operations in both a complex and socially important activity of contracted traffic as well as business-driven charter traffic in a Business to Business perspective. About the Role As Operations Manager, you have the collective and overall responsibility for all operational activities for all agreements within the group with buses and taxis for both publicly procured traffic and commercial charter traffic. Your task is to ensure efficient, quality, safe, and contractually compliant operations every day. The role is distinctly strategic and leadership-oriented. You manage and develop the business through area managers, who in turn lead unit managers (the drivers' direct supervisors). Your organization also includes traffic management, which handles direct, daily traffic control. You have overall personnel responsibility for the entire operational organization with a focus on creating structure, stability, and engagement through your subordinate managers. Currently, the area has approximately 700 drivers and approximately 25 managers. In the Role: You work closely with the CEO and others in the management team and follow its strategy, goals, and development You are responsible for leading and developing/streamlining/improving operational activities, including ensuring efficient processes, goal achievement, and continuous improvements in line with operational excellence principles You are responsible for implementing the company's governance model in practice You will set relevant KPIs for the business and be responsible for monitoring (KPIs/PMs) and following up and acting on results You establish and drive through common working methods such as standardized operations management, KPI rhythm, improvement work, clear ownership, and clear decision-making paths You ensure compliance with agreements, laws, and quality requirements You are responsible for ensuring that capacity, depot structure, and availability match traffic programs and customer requirements You represent the business in audits, follow-ups, and reviews related to agreements You ensure that follow-ups lead to decisions and closed actions You ensure financial follow-up and action plans related to deviations (penalties, extra costs, overtime, delivery risks) You lead, develop, and follow up on managers and key functions You systematically drive workplace environment work (SAM) and safety culture, implement MOC You ensure compliance with relevant regulations You are responsible for implementing and operationally applying management systems according to ISO standards for quality, environment, and workplace environment. This responsibility is delegated and shared with the KMA responsible person, who is responsible for methodological support, coordination, and follow-up Collaboration and Internal Contact Points You have a central role in the organization and work in close dialogue with: Workshop and vehicle responsible parties HR and employment law functions Accounting and follow-up Payroll function KMA function Other support functions and business areas (including IT and security) Personal Qualities Strategic architect: Ability to look beyond today's acute problems to next year's goals. Decisive: Ability to make difficult decisions when required, but communicate them in a way that builds trust. Unpretentious: Willing to step into operations during extreme events, but with a focus on supporting your subordinate managers. Experience Requirements: At least 5–10 years of experience in leading roles in public transportation, logistics, or similar personnel-intensive operations, and experience and good understanding of chartered bus transport within B2B. Experience leading managers who lead managers (indirect leadership). Familiarity with managing large budgets and complex organizational structures. Experience with change management (for example, digitalization of traffic management systems or reorganizations).
