Job Responsibilities
As an operating room nurse, you'll receive an initial placement and work in one of the surgical department's units. You'll have great opportunities to become a specialist within your home section and take responsibility for your own area of focus based on your interests and competence. With us, you'll broaden your knowledge and gain foundational competence for our most common procedures. You'll be part of the patient care team, which together with you consists of surgical assistants, anesthesia nurses, and physicians.

Work Hours
We offer work in our 24/7 operation with a time-valuation model of 37 hours per week. Region Västmanland also provides enhanced compensation for unsociable hours for nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts.
Development Opportunities
We value internal and external training, simulation exercises, trauma drills, and our employees have a higher proportion of training time than the average in the administration and other regions.
About the Workplace
The operating clinic is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery operations are conducted at the hospital in Köping. More extensive surgery, both acute and elective, takes place in Västerås. The surgical operations include general surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and ear, nose, and throat surgery. There are a total of 23 operating rooms at the clinic, with four rooms in Köping and 18 rooms in Västerås.

Qualifications
We're looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have specialist nursing education with a focus on operating room care. If you're nearing the end of your specialist education, you're also welcome to apply. It's an advantage if you have previous experience working as an operating room nurse in a surgical department, but it's not a requirement. If you've also worked with the journal systems Cosmic or Orbit, we see that as an advantage. Since our work is often governed by documents in Swedish, you need to have good knowledge of the language, both spoken and written.
You who apply are a confident and stable person. We see that you plan and structure your work, as well as quickly prioritize and adapt when circumstances change and the situation requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive manner.
