The Swedish Armed Forces plays a central role in developing and strengthening Sweden's cyber defense. The development of the Armed Forces' cyber defense is part of the broader effort to strengthen total defense and the Armed Forces' operational capability. Cyber Defense Command is seeking an operations coordinator to strengthen our work in leading Cyber Defense operations in the Swedish Armed Forces. Main Responsibilities As an operations coordinator at Cyber Defense Command, you will work with various tasks related to preparation, execution, and follow-up of cyber operations. The overall goal is to contribute to Cyber Defense's mission to protect the Armed Forces' freedom of action and support Sweden's total defense. Cyber Defense Command needs personnel with varying educational and professional backgrounds to conduct cyber defense operations. These tasks involve working both individually and in groups to create conditions for and lead qualified operational execution. The work takes place under sometimes pressured time constraints. To succeed with these tasks, we place great emphasis on a solution-focused approach, strong interest in the mission, a willingness to learn new things, and continuous professional development. Qualifications • Current and relevant work experience in cyber defense or cybersecurity, alternatively IT development relevant to the field • Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English Meritorious Qualifications • Degree from college/university or equivalent IT qualifications that the employer may deem equivalent • Experience from planning or conducting cyber operations • Experience with technical and/or analytical work in the Armed Forces or other government agency • Practical experience from incident management or leading incident management • Experience and knowledge of the cyber environment, its conditions, and vulnerabilities • Military background and service Personal Qualities We see that you have strong problem-solving skills and a desire to find solutions. Other Information Type of Employment: Permanent position with six months probation for those not employed by the agency. The High Command has approximately 1,000 employees—both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the High Command comprises the Defense Staff, Operations Command, Military Intelligence and Security Service, and the High Command's Staff Division and independent oversight units. Employment with us involves classification. Swedish citizenship is typically required. Security vetting with record check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
