We are a small private preschool with two mixed-age departments for ages 1-5. Montessori pedagogy with significant elements of creative activities, theater, music, and movement is woven into our teaching to make it concrete and enjoyable. We let the group and individual collaborate. We work with a shared theme that is broken down into smaller projects that emerge as we are guided by the children's thoughts, wonderings, and interests. We allow the Montessori work period to take its place, where children make free choices in inspiring learning environments together with engaged staff. Outdoor activities and play are important parts of our operations. We work in mixed-age groups, ages 1-5 in the department but also in cross-age groups 1-3 and 4-5. You need to feel comfortable working with mixed-age groups and with the dynamics in thinking, learning, and learning environments that it entails. Our staff consists of six pedagogically trained people where everyone is important and takes great responsibility for the development of the operations. We learn from each other and use the different competencies so that all children can benefit from them. You need to feel comfortable collaborating in different group constellations and taking initiative for cooperation and communication. We are located in a beautiful coastal area where the surrounding neighborhood is used extensively. Our own kitchen with a cook is a significant part of our preschool.
