As an Area Secretary, you work preventively with children and young people aged 12–20 years and their guardians. You meet young people in their everyday environments, in schools, at youth centers, and in the local community. Through presence and relationship-building work, you build trust, create dialogue, and serve as a link between young people, guardians, and social services. You work both practically and strategically to coordinate interventions, share knowledge, and strengthen protective factors that reduce the risk of norm-breaking behaviors.
Your main responsibilities are to:
- Collaborate with schools, social services, police, and youth activities in local safety work
- Participate in the municipality's safety-promoting, crime-prevention, and violence-prevention efforts
- Conduct outreach work in young people's environments, for example in schools and at youth centers
- Hold parent groups and provide training in school safety work according to the Tåget model
- Inform about the social services mandate and strengthen trust in social services within the local community
- Contribute to the development of work methods and collaboration structures in preventive work
As an Area Secretary, you become an important part of the municipality's work for safety, participation, and trust between young people, guardians, and society's support services. Work takes place primarily during daytime hours, but evening and weekend shifts may occur.

You will receive structured introduction, support from experienced colleagues and an engaged manager, and access to external supervision. We offer continuous professional development and regular training in motivational interviewing (MI). With us, you have the opportunity to contribute your ideas, influence work methods, and develop in your professional role.
