Welcome to us On July 1, 2025, the new Social Services Act came into force, which means new conditions for social services regarding accessibility, flexibility and preventive work. In line with this, we in Skärholmen have strengthened our operations, including at the citizen service unit. Our area coordinator is now on parental leave and we are therefore looking for a replacement during that period. The position is located at the district's citizen service office and aims to increase the social services' presence and accessibility at an early stage. The citizen service office is a neutral, easily accessible and well-visited environment where residents spontaneously seek information, support and guidance. Several functions already collaborate in the premises, making it a central arena for building relationships, establishing trust and finding common solutions – both within and outside the administration. Read more about Stockholm City as an employer at Jobba i Stockholms stad - Stockholms stad Your role As an area coordinator, you have a central and coordinating role in developing and implementing first-line social services in Skärholmen. You lead and hold together the work in a team consisting of two area social workers and have overall responsibility for driving the group's work forward. You are an initiative-taking and structuring force that contributes to direction, development and progress in the work. The role combines operational and strategic responsibility – you work close to the operations while planning, following up and developing working methods that promote accessibility, early interventions and preventive support. As an area coordinator, you become a key person in the district's transformation work towards future social services and have an important role in realizing the intentions of the new Social Services Act. This includes working proactively and relationship-building to reach residents at an early stage and facilitate access to support. The role also includes promoting internal collaboration between different departments within the district and contributing to a holistic perspective in the work, as well as increasing the social services' presence in external contexts and in various places in the local community. You work in a unit consisting of area social workers, community guides, budget and debt advisors, recreational assistants and group leaders. You report to the unit manager. Evening and weekend work occurs according to schedule. Your competence and experience In the transformation work, we need to be curious and exploratory, be inspired by previous experiences and be prepared to test new approaches continuously. A degree in social work is required We consider it a merit if you have experience from any of the following points: Outreach work, field work, collaboration with schools or civil society, or having worked in environments where dialogue with residents is central Work within social services' official powers Stockholm City's Social Systems (Paraplyet) Leading team work and driving development initiatives We are looking for someone who is organized, self-driven and has good teamwork skills. The role requires good communication skills and that you are both development-oriented and initiative-taking. If you have a flexible approach, good ability to take responsibility, are service-oriented and enjoy working with development tasks, you will be a good fit for the role.
