Primary Care Area North includes, in addition to health centers, primary care emergency services, and maternal health care, also emergency care, internal medicine, cardiology, geriatrics and rehabilitation, and neurology at the hospital in Örnsköldsvik. The position is a permanent employment in the base profession, and the managerial assignment is time-limited following Region Västernorrland's leadership policy as a benchmark. The position is full-time. Work Tasks The Role of Area Director The area director has overall responsibility for Primary Care Area North's operations, personnel, finances, quality, and patient safety. Collaboration with municipalities and change management are major parts of your strategic leadership mandate, where you work long-term with the development of the operational area. You see the bigger picture, its potential, and act as a role model through active work in creating engagement and participation. Based on your mandate, you are responsible for ensuring that the region's vision and political ambitions are implemented in operations and that operations are conducted efficiently through target management and according to financial conditions. Furthermore, your responsibility is to systematically manage and ensure planning, implementation, and follow-up of operations through trust, dialogue, and participation. As area director, you are part of the healthcare's strategic management team and actively contribute to the work of creating conditions to ensure that residents receive care at the right time and at the right level of care with high quality by strengthening capacity, efficiency, and management of care flows. In your mandate and together with your colleagues in the management team, you will also build more cohesive and person-centered care where primary care is the hub, self-care is supported and enabled, and hospital structures are adapted to future needs in close collaboration with municipalities. Additional priority areas include creating a robust and learning organization with the right competence, strengthened leadership and sustainable work environments, using digitalization, AI, data-driven follow-up, and modern resident services to create more efficient, accessible, and learning care, and strengthen healthcare's ability to function during disruptions, crises, and security threats.
