Your new job We are looking for someone with management experience in elderly care who wants to develop in a role where you contribute to social welfare by creating value for citizens in need of our community services. You have a genuine interest in working with people and base your approach on people's abilities and resources to promote health. Key principles are participation, influence, and self-determination. As Area Manager, you are part of a management team consisting of a Function Manager and Area Managers. You have overall responsibility for operations within your area, which means working with strategic planning, development, and monitoring of operations in close collaboration with management and with unit managers in the elderly care sector. The focus of the role is on present leadership to ensure that our senior citizens receive the support they need and are entitled to. Operations within elderly care have active quality, development, and budget work. In your role, you are responsible for leading, coaching, and developing subordinate managers. You initiate and drive development initiatives in close cooperation with subordinate managers and support functions such as finance and HR. By actively promoting increased participation, influence, and service for both staff and citizens, you increase opportunities for achieving targets. Your competence You have at least a three-year higher education degree of at least 180 hp in social work, healthcare, organization and leadership, or other education deemed equivalent, and you have good knowledge of the legislation governing the operations, primarily the Social Services Act (SoL). You have experience from public sector operations and several years of documented experience of successful leadership with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility in the private or public sector. We would like to see that you have experience managing managers and that you have work experience from staff/management. To succeed in the role, you need to be good at collaborating and you apply operations-focused leadership where communication, commitment, and participation are as natural as responsiveness, flexibility, and clarity. You make your staff feel valued and competent. You lead with courage and motivate your employees to lift each other up. You need to be well acquainted with how change processes affect people and organizations, and you also need to have economic awareness as the work also involves keeping the budget within available resources. As a person, you are clear and decisive in your leadership and you find it easy to collaborate and build trust. You are strategic and analytical in your approach and have the ability to see long-term solutions. We also want you to be courageous and persistent, with a will to drive change and improvement. Of course, you are a genuine advocate for a dignified life for our senior citizens, where safety, self-determination, and integrity are central. A valid driver's license is desirable. Operations should be based on a health-promoting approach where the citizen's resources are utilized and strengthened through self-determination, participation, and influence. Elderly care shall meet the individual needs of seniors for care, support, and safety in accordance with the operations' goals, guidelines, and current conditions. Managers and staff in elderly care shall together with citizens and organizations focus on what is valuable for citizens and what promotes quality in operations. Good to know The employment is a permanent position, full-time, with a start date of 2027-01-01 or by agreement. Continuous selection is applied in the recruitment process. Interview 1 takes place on Tuesday, October 13th, and you will also meet union representatives. Interview 2 takes place on Thursday, October 15th.
