Welcome to us Stockholm Cultural School is undergoing extensive development work. A new cultural school plan sets the direction through 2030, with a focus on increasing accessibility, strengthening quality, and reaching more children and young people. A central mission going forward is to create a more equitable and accessible cultural school. It's about reaching more people, but also about ensuring that the activity maintains high quality and develops in a sustainable and cohesive way. To enable this, efforts in quality, operations support, and governance are being strengthened. As area manager, you have a central role in developing how the Cultural School monitors, analyzes, and develops its operations and in creating structures and working methods that have an impact throughout the organization. You will be part of the Cultural School's management team and work closely with the department manager and other area managers. This is a newly created role, which offers an opportunity to influence and shape the function based on the organization's needs. We offer A strategic and operations-focused management position with a clear focus on quality and development A central role in developing the Cultural School's governance, monitoring, and working methods The opportunity to influence structure, working methods, and coordination in a large organization A context where you, together with other managers, drive development with a focus on children and young people Your role As area manager, you are responsible for operations, personnel, work environment, and budget within the quality and operations support area. You lead a broad function that encompasses both unit manager and specialist roles. The assignment includes unit manager for central administration as well as functions within analysis, communication, and operations development, such as operations controller, communicators, operations developers, and strategists. The functions work closely with management and operations and have an important role in creating structure, support, and direction throughout the organization. You have a central role in developing and leading the Cultural School's systematic quality work. This involves developing and further developing structures for monitoring, analysis, and governance and ensuring that these work in practice and provide support to operations. You work closely with other area managers and unit managers to ensure that quality and development are integrated into daily work. The role also includes responsibility for matters related to internal and external communication, digitalization, and innovation. You contribute to creating common working methods and a clear structure in an organization in transition and function as support to the department manager on strategic issues. The role also includes the assignment as deputy cultural school manager. Your competence and experience As a person, you are a confident and structured leader with strong analytical skills. You are accustomed to working both strategically and operatively and have the ability to translate overarching goals into functioning working methods in operations. You have experience leading and developing systematic quality work, including monitoring, analysis, and operations governance. You work methodically to identify development needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure that the work leads to concrete improvements. You have experience driving development work in complex organizations and are skilled at creating buy-in and achieving results. You communicate clearly, build trust, and collaborate well with different functions and levels. We are looking for someone who has A university degree in a relevant field such as education, culture, economics, or social sciences, or alternatively other education combined with qualified work experience in the education sector, culture and leisure sector (or another sector that the employer deems equivalent) Several years of management experience in a qualified role, such as quality manager, development manager, chief of staff, or similar Experience leading other managers Management or leadership training Experience leading and developing systematic quality work and working with monitoring, analysis, and operations governance Good knowledge of quality management systems and experience working with quality and development issues in a management role, as well as competence in developing and implementing systematic quality work Experience with innovation work, process management, project work, and change management Experience working at an overarching level in a complex organization Extensive experience leading change processes in an inclusive way that produces sustainable results Good digital skills It is advantageous if you have Experience working in public sector operations Experience from the cultural sector, educational activities, or other activities directed toward children and young people Knowledge of issues related to culture, leisure, and participation for children and young people Experience in communications or media relations We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Other information The Cultural Administration applies a model with time-limited management assignments (3 years at a time) with a permanent position as the base employment.
