WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a relationship-oriented and development-focused area manager and assistant section manager who wants to take responsibility for the valuable work carried out in preschool, primary school, and adapted primary school in Vårgårda.
The assignment covers the operational area of preschool, primary school, and adapted primary school, where you lead a management group consisting of principals in the area. You are formally a school leader according to the Education Act and have full responsibility for quality, working environment, and finances. You ensure that legislation, governing documents, and national goals become a clear part of both the long-term development of operations and daily management. With children's and students' development, learning, and goal achievement in focus, you lead the development of operations through systematic quality work based on follow-up, analysis, and improvement.
Vårgårda is changing its political organization in 2027, and you will build together with the section manager the structure and culture in the entire new section area of Education, which encompasses operations from preschool to adult education.
You support the political board through dialogue and expertise together with the section manager. You report to the section manager, and together you form a leadership team where you are expected to drive section-wide and municipality-wide issues to develop both the section and the municipality as a whole. You collaborate with colleagues and others to drive progress based on the vision and direction in the joint administration—together we build a long-term sustainable welfare.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience in qualified assignments within educational operations and documented good results in leading a complex organization. You have good knowledge of the school's management chain and governing documents, as well as experience in leading development with a focus on quality, learning, and goal achievement. You use research and proven methods as the basis for development and improvement. You understand the interaction between politics, administration, and operations and can balance strategic goals, operational needs, and a long-term development perspective.
You have well-founded and values-driven leadership where you create psychological safety and clear direction based on the municipality's vision and strategic goals. With a communicative approach, you build trust, learning, and progress to create sustainable results over time.
You lead through other managers and create conditions for strong pedagogical leadership in operations. You are clear in direction and responsibility while maintaining a responsive and relationship-building approach.
You lead development in a changing environment and create conditions together with others for long-term development, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility. Your leadership is characterized by both clarity and collaboration, where you build good relationships both within the municipality and with other societal actors.
We are looking for someone who has:
• higher education in the operational area or other higher education deemed appropriate
• principal education/certification
• experience in leadership within educational operations
• very good knowledge of governing documents and the school's mission
It is advantageous if you have:
• experience in leading other managers within the operational area
• experience as a teacher and principal
• school leader education/certification

• you have a clear focus on children and students

Employment form: Permanent employment.
