SkiStar Vemdalen is now seeking an Area Manager for Guest Arenas with responsibility for all of our arenas. As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the operational activities encompassing three departments: Events & Partners, Snow Park, and Training & Competition. As Area Manager, you will supervise approximately 5–8 employees during the winter season. The department works with planning and executing events, producing and maintaining our parks, activating and promoting SkiStar's partners, and coordinating and arranging training and competition in the ski area. In this role, you report to the Head of Guest Arenas. Main Responsibilities Lead and distribute work within the daily operations of the department. Collaborate with other departments within the company. Recruitment and workforce planning within the department. Finance and monitoring in line with company and department goals. Development of operations. External contacts for organizing competitions, events, or other partner activities. We are looking for someone with documented previous experience in a leadership role who enjoys leading and developing people. You are accustomed to a fast pace while maintaining accuracy. We believe you are customer-service oriented, honest, responsive, engaged, and curious with a genuine passion for guest service, people, skiing, and outdoor activities. Required Qualifications Experience in team leadership and personnel responsibility Knowledge of budgeting and cost tracking Class B driver's license and snowmobile operator certification Meritorious Experience leading other leaders Previous experience planning, developing, and/or building snowparks Previous experience with training and competition activities in, for example, alpine skiing Previous experience with events and/or project management Previous experience in the hospitality industry Employment Type and Period This is a permanent position with a start date of September 1 or by agreement. We apply a 6-month probation period. Recruiting and selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
