Do you want to help develop pediatric eye care in Halland? We are now seeking a specialist in pediatric ophthalmology to join our team in Halmstad! About the Position To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in an outpatient clinic setting and have a strong ability to work as part of a team. You are responsible and consider good patient care, interaction with relatives and colleagues as a matter of course. You are communicative with strong verbal and written Swedish skills. Your role also includes contact and collaboration with internal and external partners, as well as with optometrists and primary care centers. About the Workplace Ögonkliniken, with over 100 employees, provides high-quality specialist eye care at our locations in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad. We offer outpatient services at all three sites and perform day surgery in Kungsbacka and Halmstad. From Halmstad, we operate an on-call service covering all of Halland with evening and weekend coverage, and access to inpatient beds when needed. Annually, we conduct approximately 23,000 physician visits, around 30,000 other care visits, and 1,800 surgical procedures. The eye clinic in Halmstad is located in bright, modern facilities at the top of the entrance building. Here, resident physicians and experienced eye specialists with various subspecialties work together. Our other staff is well-trained and prepares patients for physician visits and maintains their own clinics. The team includes ophthalmology nurses, surgical nurses, optometrists, orthoptists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. Patient safety and a strong team atmosphere with a positive, developmental work environment are important to us. At the Halmstad eye clinic, we have our pediatric department, treating children of all ages from throughout Halland. We also care for and examine premature infants and perform ROP screening with Retcam. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, you will work closely with our orthoptists. We also maintain strong collaboration with pediatric clinics in Region Skåne and Västra Götalandsregionen. The primary location is Halmstad, with the possibility to work part-time in Varberg and/or Kungsbacka. Qualifications We seek a licensed physician with specialist credentials in pediatric ophthalmology. Previous experience is a merit. You have strong collaboration and communication skills, are solution-focused, take own initiative, and are responsible and organized in your approach. Personal suitability is important to us.
