Ögonblicksteatern is an independent performing arts group in Umeå that has existed since 1974, making it one of Sweden's oldest independent theaters. Our venue is centrally located by the river, and in addition to theater, we host concerts, lectures, conversations, and much more. We are now seeking an experienced producer who is committed to driving our operations forward together with us. About the Role: As a producer, your main responsibilities include selling and touring our productions. You lead and execute press and marketing work for our productions, tours, and projects, as well as for our overall activities. At Ögonblicksteatern, you will be one of two producers who together plan and manage the theater's administrative work. This includes responsibility for applications and reporting for the theater's operational support and other project funding, as well as oversight of the operational budget. The producers have primary responsibility for the theater's productions, projects, and events. Together with our artistic staff, you will bring them to fruition. You need to think creatively about the organization's development both in the short and long term, and always plan well in advance. As a producer, you are an ambassador for the theater, which means it is important that you have an interest in norm-critical perspectives, are responsive to different needs, and enjoy speaking with and in front of people. Ögonblicksteatern is a small organization of 6 people running a large operation. This means shared responsibility for our premises, personnel, and fire safety. Working in an independent group means you have great freedom to think in new and bold ways while needing to be solution-focused. We all work closely with decision-making and can direct and influence much of our work, as well as have opportunities to develop in several areas of the theater. As a permanent employee, you are expected to serve on the theater's board with other staff members. You will work at a well-established and exciting venue in the Scandinavian performing arts scene, alongside committed and creative people who share your passion for stage art! Required Experience: Project management / producing in the performing arts sector or cultural field Budget work Applications and reporting Sales and tour arrangement Project and organizational development Marketing work Knowledge of digital tools such as Fortnox, Excel, and Google Workspace Meritorious: Relevant education for the position Administrative work in the cultural sector Experience with or knowledge of anti-discrimination and disability rights issues Experience with or knowledge of norm-critical perspectives and work processes Network / representation within, and good knowledge of, the performing arts sector Audience engagement work Knowledge of digital tools such as image and video editing, web publishing B-class driver's license Work is on-site. Evening and weekend work may occur. The position is a permanent full-time role (100%) with a 6-month probation period, starting October 1, 2026 (or by agreement).
