About the Operations Sahlgrenska University Hospital has three sterile processing units: Mölndal, Sahlgrenska and Östra. Our mission is to provide the operating departments and clinics at Östra Hospital with sterile instruments and pre-sterilized materials. We also provide service to external customers. Our operations are strongly governed by laws and regulations as well as national and international standards. Work with instrument handling involves preventing infection transmission and preventing healthcare-related infections, thereby achieving good hygienic standards and patient safety. We work with continuous improvements in both the sterile processing process and our customer relationships. We don't work directly with patients but have the patient and patient safety in focus. Job Responsibilities As an employee with us, you handle and ensure quality of instruments throughout the sterile processing process. Cleaning, disinfection, inspection and maintenance of instruments as well as sterilization and inventory management are part of the daily work. The work is varied, can be physically demanding and sometimes has a high pace. You work to some extent independently while also having support from your colleagues. Collaboration and community are important to us. We have close collaboration with our customers and other sterile processing units at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Working hours are scheduled during daytime and evening hours, as well as weekends. About You We welcome you who are trained as a sterile processing technician (YH 300p) or trained nursing assistant with experience in surgery and instrument handling. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement. You should have computer skills and an interest in technology as the development of medical devices and surgical instruments is constantly ongoing. We work daily in the traceability and production system T-DOC. You are thorough, orderly and flexible. For you, it is natural to work independently and prioritize your work tasks according to the needs of the operation. You are solution-oriented when problems arise. You have good collaboration skills and value a good work climate. We place great emphasis on quality and patient safety and it is therefore meritorious if in any of your previous experiences you have worked in sterile operations with instrument handling or in a cleanroom with high hygiene standards.
