Description
The County Administrative Board manages and maintains protected nature areas and the Nature Conservancy Board's properties in Dalarna County. We have two units that share this mission: the Unit for Nature Management and the Unit for Mountain Management (Älvdalen Municipality and Sälen area).
We are now recruiting a manager for the Unit for Nature Management to join our management team with responsibility for maintaining protected areas.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on maintenance and restoration measures in protected areas according to management and conservation plans. Work with maintenance includes both habitat management and outdoor recreation activities. The work tasks are varied and include fieldwork in sometimes demanding terrain. It also involves contact with private individuals, organizations, businesses, and other authorities.
Work Tasks
Planning, implementation, and follow-up of biological maintenance and restoration in protected areas as well as maintenance of outdoor recreation facilities, trails, and boundaries.
Procurement and ordering of services and materials.
Contact and agreements with landowners and animal keepers.
Other work tasks at the unit may occur.
Qualifications
Requirements
Degree at university level with relevant focus for the work tasks. The work tasks require knowledge and experience in nature conservation work.
Experience with conservation-oriented maintenance work and in particular management of grasslands.
Experience with wetland restoration work.
Experience with construction/installation relevant to maintenance and establishment of outdoor recreation facilities, fencing, etc.
You communicate well in Swedish in speech and writing and understand English texts without support.
You have good computer skills.
You need to have good field experience and physical fitness.
Driver's license category B.
Meritorious
Experience with work planning/work supervision in the field including knowledge of occupational health coordination (BAS P/U).
Experience with procurement and ordering of services and materials as well as drawing up agreements.
Experience with state or municipal management of protected areas.
Experience working with ArcGIS Pro, FieldMaps, or similar.

Terms
The County Administrative Board applies a probationary period of 6 months. Start date December 2026 or by agreement.
