About the School Praktiska Gymnasiet Skellefteå offers students a concept where theory alternates with practical exercises both in school and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for educational and engaging training. Our program offerings include: Electrical, Automotive, Construction, Hospitality, Sales, and Healthcare programs. Currently, the school has approximately 170 students and about 29 staff members. We are located in a newly built school on Brogatan 27. Your Assignment This is a fixed-term position at 15% or as a substitute as needed, starting as soon as possible by agreement. Possible opportunity for extension. You will teach and mentor our second-year students in the subject of science. The work is scheduled for 3 full days (Tuesday-Thursday, 1 hour/lesson each). Beyond this time, you have time for planning. The position can be combined with other work and we can adjust the schedule if you can only work 1-2 days/week. We see you as an important and driving force to provide students with the best education, with students as the focus and in collaboration with colleagues. Together, you and your colleagues will coach students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment through sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans. You will design the course content based on each course plan's core content, giving you great opportunities to influence lessons and content. You collaborate with other teachers and colleagues at the school and serve as a mentor. Your Profile We are looking for you who: - Are a certified teacher in science at upper secondary level or have good knowledge of the subject or have completed the science program at upper secondary school. - Are comfortable taking responsibility and working independently, but also collaborating with colleagues. - Have leadership qualities as you lead classroom work with students and are pedagogically inclined. - Have good IT skills as we work digitally. - Are flexible, stress-resilient as it can be intensive at times, and can prioritize your work. - Have the ability to build good relationships with young people and guardians. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack teaching certification, you have the opportunity to apply for the position.
