At Sötåsen, we currently have approximately 120 employees and approximately 220 students in our specializations Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Care, as well as Adapted 4-year Upper Secondary School Forest-Land and Animals. We operate an ecological school farm with cattle, pigs, sheep and lambs, as well as approximately 50 different species in our animal house. You should have a strong interest in supporting young people as a student assistant within the agricultural program and want to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to develop according to their abilities and toward higher goals. If you have a connection to the green industry, it is an additional positive factor that will be useful in supporting young people's learning in both classrooms, animal stalls and on the driving grounds. The school has 2.5 full-time mentors who conduct development talks and are the primary contact between home and school. Learning environments and clarifying pedagogy are a benchmark for us in both practical and theoretical subjects – everyone has the right to their own learning. Job Responsibilities As a student assistant at Naturbruksgymnasiet Sötåsen, you work as a resource in class, at group level and with individual students. The work is mainly based at the school unit but may also include providing support to students in APL (workplace-based learning). Your role as a student assistant is to be a tool for students to benefit from teaching in the best way possible, whether it is about creating security, providing reading or writing support and being present in both theoretical and practical lessons.
